The Manning Bowl (Round 1) - Giants Fall to Colts 26 - 21

Well it was a helluva game and the hard fought battle everyone was hoping for. I think the Manning Bowl lived up to it’s hype. There were way too many penalties and mistakes - not unusual for the first game of the season while things are still gelling and the speed gets kicked up a notch . . . but I think think the Gmen fought hard.

Here is a Good Overview of the Game. Also some great photos (First Half, Second Half) all compliments of the Star Ledger. Boy I miss my daily Star Ledger Sports paper reads during football season . . . sure I get it on the web - but there is just something missing from having it in your paper every morning.

As disappointing as this loss is we need to put it behind us and get ready for 2 tough road games - first this week by facing the Eagles in Philly (the only team in the NFC East with a victory after week one) and the following week against the Seahawks . . . (so much for easy schedules).

I hope you all enjoyed the first NFC East Roundtable Discussion - if you haven’t listened yet - what are you waiting for!

BTW - I know what you’re asking yourself . . . Phil . . . why did you put Manning Bowl (ROUND 1) as the title? I’ll tell you why . . . because I have a dream . . . that after this hard fought first game of the season Eli wants a chance to beat his older brother. The Giants and Colts fire it up through the season and the brothers meet again on the biggest stage of them all . . . The Big Dance . . . The SuperBowl! (I’m mad you say? Perhaps . . . but you know the NFL shares my dream because what better story could you ask for - it’s Superbowl hype nirvana. )

And I firmly believe that thoughts have power (otherwise I wouldn’t be screaming and yelling so much during the game) :-) so I will join in this collective NFL wish and try to manifest ROUND 2 of the Manning Bowl to be decided in Miami!

Can I get a witness my Big Blue brothers and sisters ??!!??
